ChordGen
ChordGen
Overview
ChordGen allows users to generate unique chord progressions by simply describing a desired mood, genre, or feeling in plain language. Users type a prompt, such as "melancholic jazz" or "upbeat pop anthem," and the system returns three distinct chord progressions. Each progression is displayed on a visual piano interface, allowing users to hear and play the chords.
How it works
The tool provides editing capabilities, enabling users to drag chords, swap them out, or add/delete elements until the progression sounds right. Once satisfied, the generated progression can be downloaded as a standard MIDI file, compatible with any Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) like Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, or Cubase, without requiring an account.
It eliminates the need for manual scale picking or preset menus, focusing on natural language input to create chords. This makes it useful for overcoming creative blocks, quickly building song foundations, or exploring new harmonic ideas.
